Dear Subaru Team, On behalf of the students and staff at Dogwood Elementary School, I extend my heartfelt thanks for your generous $500 donation for 15 classrooms each to our Adopt a Classroom account and 15 supply kits full of items our students need and use daily. Your support allows us to purchase critical intervention supplies that directly impact learning for our K6 students. These resources help us provide targeted, hands-on support to meet the diverse needs of our learners. From Shelter to Sofa: Stohlman Subaru Supports Life-Changing Pet Adoptions - Adam P
Stohlman Subaru loves and supports the Humane Society of Northern Virginia. They provide us with generous donations of monetary and animal supplies. They also had us in the showroom throughout the month of October to host adoption events - which led to over 30 adoptions in the month of October! They help us find really good homes for some of our special needs cats & dogs too. Specifically they provide new owner pet kits and money that will help us purchase food, spays & neutering, chipping and placing these animals in their FUR-EVER homes! Thank you Stohlman Subaru for continuing to partner with us during Subaru Loves Pets, it helps us save homeless animals and further our mission!

COVID-19 has tragically taken the lives of more than 2 million individuals around the world. In January of 2021, ALPA received devastating news that longtime employee Tom Banks, who worked in the Associations McLean, Va., offices, had passed away on January 28, 2021 as a result of the deadly virus. Banks worked at ALPA for 24 years, most recently as the receiving and distribution clerk in the unions Facilities Department. His legacy will forever be his good nature and welcoming presence. He made a friend of everyone whose path he crossed. Here at ALPA and with the leadership of Andrew Street we have been celebrating the life of Tom Banks at a Golf event known as "ALPA OPEN INVITATIONAL in memory of Tom Banks" at the Brambleton Golf Course in Ashburn, VA. This event is close to our heart and the money we raised was donated to the Diabetes Association of America in Tom's honor. Thank you Stohlman Subaru of Tysons for stepping up and being a sponsor. The onsite raffles, gift basket and support made our event even better.

Stohlman Subaru has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and UVA Health Prince William Medical Center through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. The partnership has involved delivering blankets and messages of hope to the patients at UVA Health Prince William Medical Center. On 6/12/2025, employees from Stohlman Subaru personally delivered these items to patients in treatment and/or hospital staff.

Trees are vital to this effort as they provide oxygen, cool our community, filter water, clean the air, improve health and prevent flooding. Year after year, our community loses trees due to age, disease, infestation, and extreme weather. Because of this, we are proud to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation to help address these problems. This spring, as part of our Subaru loves the Earth initiative, Stohlman Subaru provided and distributed 100 trees that will benefit our communities for generations! This year alone, Subaru and its retailers provided and distributed 100,000 trees to communities across the country. Together we are growing a greener, healthier community for generations to come!
Supporting Military Veterans when they need it most through K9 Caring Angels - Adam P
Stohlman Subaru has partnered with K-9 Caring Angels because we believe in their mission to give back to our community to provide service, therapy, and comfort to the community through their well trained and rigorously tested Service, Therapy and Comfort Dogs. Our donation of thousands of dollars to the K-9 Caring Angels as part of Subaru's 'Share the Love' campaign is making a significant impact in our local community. A substantial increase in the donation amount this year, with Stohlman Subaru presenting a check totaling $38,186. We appreciate our military families and understand how important the K-9 Caring Angels role is in providing psychiatric service dogs to Veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI, anxiety, depression, and other invisible wounds of war, at no cost to the Veterans in our community. The funds raised are used for breeding, raising and training psychiatric service dogs that are donated to military Veterans.

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Vienna, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Stohlman Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Stohlman Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/23/2025, Stohlman Subaru donated 504 coats to Kids R First - Reston, VA. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.
Subaru Retailers Team Up to Support Hurricane Relief Efforts - Jess M
At Stohlman Subaru, were always ready to step up and support our communities, especially in times of crisis. This commitment is at the heart of the Subaru Love Promise®. When Hurricanes Helene and Milton devastated the Eastern region, Subaru retailers like us immediately sprang into action. Alongside other Subaru retailers, Subaru of America, and local organizations, we assessed the most urgent needs in the affected areas. It quickly became clear that local food banks were struggling to keep up with the surge in demand as they worked to support people hit hardest by the storms. In response, we teamed up with 67 Subaru retailers across the region to launch a $400,000 match campaign to aid the hurricane relief efforts of Feeding America®. Stohlman Subaru proudly contributed $2500 to this initiative. While the immediate impact of the storms fades from the headlines, many of our neighbors continue to face long-term challenges like food insecurity, water shortages, power outages, and limited access to essential services. Thanks to the collective generosity of Subaru retailers and the communities we serve, an additional $18,427 was raised. This brings the total impact to $418,427, or over 4,100,000 meals for those in need. "As one of the nation's largest disaster relief organizations, the Feeding America network of food banks and partner agencies is deeply rooted in communities across the country. Together, our partnership with trusted Subaru dealers has helped expedite emergency food assistance and supplies to people who need it most. We are immensely grateful," said Feeding America Chief Development Officer Casey Marsh.

The Stohlman Subaru Family made another promise of making the community a better place...this time a commitment to 500 young kids! January 18, 2024, kids from Dogwood Elementary a Fairfax County Public School in Reston, Va were given a reason to smile. Stohlmans generosity and caring, through Operation Warm, donated new coats to 500 kids whose families live at or below the poverty line. Watching the caravan of four Subaru Outbacks, arrive from the Tysons Dealership as the Stohlmn Team drove up to the school and unloaded huge boxes of coats was a memory to savor for Kate Beckner, principal, Andy Sigle, Family Liaison, additional Dogwood staff along with their co-partner, Kids R Firsts board members and Founder Susan Ungerer. What a happy after school event to see kids, with parents, in the cafeteria sipping hot chocolate, eating big cookies coloring on large banners with original Subaru and Dogwood designs created by Adam Portzel, Stohlmans Marketing Manager, while waiting a turn to choose their coat from a rainbow of colors and styles to call their own and name written inside. The thoughtful details Adam and his team from Stohlman made will never be forgotten. WJLA, News 7 was present to capture the excitement and smiles but also heard the story of Stohlmans overlapping commitments in the community with a new partnership, Kids R First, a non profit organization who has provided new school supplies to 500,000+ kids, including those at Dogwood Elementary for the past 25 years in Northern VA. Stohlman Subaru really made a difference with Love Paws and their mission to save dogs & cats - Adam P
Stohlman Subaru has made a big difference in Love Paws quest to save dogs and cats in under-resourced homes, in shelters and those facing breed bans in our community. By selecting Love Paws to be our Subaru Loves Pets Partner for the second year in a row Stohlman Subaru has provided them with many new owner kits for our dogs that get adopted. We also donated $3,000 to Love Paws so they can purchase food, supplies and pay for spay & neuter surgeries and vet visits. We also made room for them to hold an adoption event at the dealership - where they placed 1 dog in their forever home! Many customers and employees brought dog food and other supplies out of the kindness of their hearts to donate as well. Thank you Love Paws for never giving up to find these dogs and cats their forever homes!

Our donation of thousands of dollars to the Washington Jesuit Academy as part of Subaru's 'Share the Love' campaign is making a significant impact in our local community. A substantial increase in the donation amount this year, with Stohlman Subaru presenting a check totaling $35,000, demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting the community's needs. Cathy Stohlman, the owner of Stohlman Subaru, acknowledges the WJA role in giving boys from low income communities a high quality education and a safe environment to grow and learn. The funds raised are directed towards resources and services that aim to enhance the quality of life for these individuals, including providing clothing and resources, school supplies, meals, and support for children facing various challenges. Overall, this 10 year partnership between Stohlman Subaru and the Washington Jesuit Academy showcases the positive impact that businesses can have when they prioritize education in low income communities and invest in initiatives that allow them to safely grow and learn.

In honor of breast, cancer awareness month everyone here at Stohlman Subaru proudly wears a pink shirt every day of the month! We also have pink shirts we give away to customers who want to join us in supporting & educating about it. Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting American women, with 1 in 8 receiving the diagnosis of breast cancer during ones lifetime. Early detection provides the best chance of successful treatment and cure. Over 3.5 million breast cancer survivors are alive today thanks to advances in screening, detection and treatment. This December we brought Olaf to the Holiday Market for kids and families to take photos with and give him plenty of warm hugs. I am sharing this story to recognize the outstanding customer service we received from your sales and finance team during the purchase of our new 2023 Subaru Ascent Onyx Limited on June 17. Both Priscilla Frimpong and Greg Altieri provided customer service that was beyond our expectations. My youngest daughter and I were in a car accident that totaled our 2020 Ascent on May 28. Following the accident, my wife and I quickly agreed that there was no other choice but to buy another Subaru Ascent. I previously purchased a Legacy from Stohlman in 2009 and reached out due to my prior positive experience. I received a quick response from Priscilla via email and text message and she communicated with me regularly for nearly 3 weeks. As you likely know, a total loss situation can be extremely stressful and time consuming. Our totaled Ascent was our family vehicle and one that we planned to keep for many years. Both Priscilla and Greg were empathetic to our situation and provided customer service I did not experience with any other dealership during our buying process. What most impressed me when working with Priscilla and Greg were their patience and compassion for our situation. We never were made to feel like just a car sale. We felt valued and heard. They both worked hard to earn our business by providing excellent communication and unrivaled flexibility with our financing situation due to our insurance company's slow reimbursement process . Ultimately, Priscilla and Greg assisted in finding our new family Ascent but also provided much needed stress relief during the total loss process. Again, with much gratitude, I want to thank Priscilla, Greg and the entire Stohlman Subaru team. We will no doubt reach out to your dealership for our next Subaru.

Bruno: the pit bull with the ears that survived Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) - Sonya W
Bruno is an underdog that found his forever home during Subaru Loves Pets month. Bruno was labelled a pit bul by the Prince George's County MD shelter. The county has the nation's 3rd largest breed specific legislation (BSL) in the nation, against pit bull type dogs. It uses no scientific method to determine a breed and simply labels dogs taken into the shelter pit bull solely based on looks and these dogs become unadoptable to the public and may only be rescued form the shelter by an approved rescue. Very few of these loving family dogs like adorable, loving Bruno make it out of the shelter due to this inhumane legislation. Bruno is fantastic with all adults (he's quite the charmer and ladies man, especially with those ears), kids and dogs and likes cats. He loves people and playing. He's an all-around great boy. Bruno is the perfect example of why put bull bans and BSL should not exist. You cannot label an entire breed dangerous. The public research supports this and demonstrates breed is not an indicator of dog behavior. LOVEPAWS partnered with Stohlman Subaru in Tysons Corner VA for an adoption event in October during Subaru loves pets month and brought 4 of our dogs in need of homes. Thanks to the event and the dealership's efforts on social media, they all received exposure from the public. We're so grateful for Subaru's support for animals, especially the underdogs like Bruno, in our community and across the nation, helping rescues continue their efforts in tackling the homeless pet epidemic and doing other important things to enrich the lives of animals, like fighting to repeal fear-based, non-science driven breed bans.
